Muslim campaigners buy ads on TV

7:26pm Monday, 24th October 2011

Marketing website Mumbrella is reporting that the Muslim "Mypeace" group which has run poster and bus-poster campaigns earlier this year has bought time on TV.

The first wave of Muslim posters was met with counter ads, from Christian groups.

The "Mypeace" ads are he first Muslim-backed campaign to run on primetime TV in Australia according to Mumbrella. The idea of the campaign is to educate non-Muslims about Islam.

The ad will run nationally on Prime from Wednesday, and on Nine and Seven from Saturday.

“This is the first time an Australian Muslim group has taken the initiative to bring Islam to the masses,” said MyPeace founder Diaa Mohamed told Mumbrella. “We hope this campaign provides Australians with fact and insight around Islam.”
